5 Tips on How to Be Happier in Life

1. Change Your Beliefs to Get Rid of Negative Thoughts Negative thoughts don’t operate alone. They have an ally- something that gives them the confidence to attack you. That ally is your beliefs. No matter how hard you may try to change those negative thoughts into positive ones, if your beliefs are negative, being positive might be hard. If you believe that your house would be robbed one day, no matter how much you say, “my house is free from burglars”, you’ll always be scared to death whenever you hear your window creak. And you definitely can’t be a happy person, knowing that you could be robbed at anytime. If everyone around you has a common negative belief about something, let yours be different. You don’t have to shout it out loud so that everyone will hear it (I wouldn’t advise you to do that). But know it, deep down in your heart. 2. Ignore Your Beliefs to Clear Your Mind Changing your beliefs can be hard, especially when you grew up having that belief. The statement, “you ca

How to accomplish a goal

Set a realistic but challenging/inspiring goal. Take a big dream, like "I want to be famous", and break it down into smaller, more manageable steps, like "I want to star in a science fiction movie", "I want to go to three auditions a week", "I want to move to another city" and "I want to save $5000 so I can move." Make the goal big enough to challenge and excite you, but not so big that you hesitate to take the first steps. Plan ahead. Once you've broken down your goal into pieces, write down the steps on a piece of paper to make sure you have everything thought out. One of the worst things that can happen is you're almost to the point of your goal, but you're not sure what to do next. Also, give yourself deadlines for each step. Otherwise, you'll end up procrastinating and never achieving your dream. Brainstorm ideas. Are there different ways to reach your goal? Write everything down that you can think of in three m

Principles....for lifetime

(1) Never think or speak negatively about yourself; that puts you in disagreement with God. (2) Meditate on your God-given strengths and learn to encourage yourself, for much of the time nobody else will. (3) Don't compare yourself to anybody else. You're unique, one of a kind, an original. So don't settle for being a copy. (4) Focus on your potential, not your limitations. Remember, God lives in you! (5) Find what you like to do, do well, and strive to do it with excellence. (6) Have the courage to be different. Be a God pleaser, not a people pleaser. (7) Learn to handle criticism. Let it develop you instead of discourage you. (8) Determine your own worth instead of letting others do it for you. They'll short-change you! (9) Keep your shortcomings in perspective - you're still a work in progress.... (10) Focus daily on your greatest source of confidence - the God Who lives in you

When you need something , don't talk yourself out of it. Even if you can't have it, it's ok to need. When you are scared , let someone know. Isolating yourself when you're scared makes it worse. When you feel like running away , let yourself feel the scare. Think about what you fear will happen   and   decide what you need to do. When you're angry , let yourself feel the anger. Decide what you want to do.   Just feel it, express it, or take some action. When you're sad , think about what would be comforting. When you're h

Secret of Success: Get the mind-set of an Ant

But we forget that sometimes the biggest lessons in life come from the smallest folks around us. Now that's a good lesson to remember! Take ants for instance. Would you believe those small creatures can teach us how to live a better life? Jim Rohn - the great motivational guru - developed what he called the 'Ants Philosophy'. He identified four key lessons from the behavior of ants that can help us lead better lives. Jim Rohn is no more - but his messages continue to inspire. Here then, are the four lessons from Rohn's 'Ants Philosophy'. 1. Ants never quit .  Have you noticed how ants always look for a way around an obstacle? Put your finger in an ant's path and it will try and go around it, or over it. It will keep looking for a way out. It won't just stand there and stare. It won't give up and go back. We should all le

Commitment and Excellence in Life

Commitment is the language of the wise, Complaint is the language of the fools. Commitment is a responsibility and also includes accountability. In life, one should be responsible as well as accountable. Generally one takes responsibility without accountability; this weakens one’s being. Our weaknesses result in disappointment. Disappointment should be cremated and not garlanded. People derive a sadistic pleasure from disappointment. This is a primitive pleasure, like a grownup boy sucking his thumb. To cremate disappointment, one should strengthen one’s strengths. The greatest strength comes from the energy of commitment and brings in excellence in all walks of life. Few people traverse the road of success without a puncture or two but it is commitment to excellence that takes them through. Observe nature and see how other being are committed. For example, look at an eagle. From a range of 5 km, it focuses on its prey. Can we focus on our goals like an eagle?
